Lobbying and Activism
Trade policies that affect the modern lampworker are at the forefront of our mission. We believe that the current agreements (NAFTA and CAFCA, and the newly removed TPP) are all devastating to our industry and diminish new members of our trade. We seek to identify and inform the public of wholesale and retail locations that give disproportional support to foreign entities for the purpose of profiting at the expense of domestic labor. We also seek to safeguard our industry through pro-active efforts to understand expenses and methods at which to protect the environment while operating small and large studio operations. Currently we are preparing to lobby for industry-wide credits to modernize the nature of our environmental impact while preventing enormous barriers to entry for new suppliers in the coming years.

Publication and Media
FairGlassTrade.com and our official bi-monthly trade publication "Fair Glass Trade", are the platforms in which we actively seek to disseminate trade information to all those involved in the Lampworking industry.
Non-commercial publication of current standards and information to the public is the driving force behind our trade publication, demonstrations, and live event participation. Members will find the information available has been placed in databases and will ideally be a standard reference for technical guidelines.
We specifically target glassblowers with help where they need it most with ambitious yet achievable goals. Planned outreach for our community of lampworkers will directly benefit the hard working individuals that share our trade. The list of objectives ranges from legal services, to taxes, and emergency oxygen. We are planning to give relief to single people and families that get stuck in financially difficult situations and fit the guidelines for assistance.
Science and Research
From testing in small and large shop environments, to improving the carbon footprint of our industry; we seek to clarify results and test common misconceptions and editorial comments by conducting and publishing scientific studies. Grant writing for research in our industry is at the forefront of our goals to provide technical answers that have yet to be thoroughly documented and studied.
